June 6, 2004: We've got all of the floor joists up so now it's time to put on the subflooring plywood. In order to do that, however, we need to be able to get to the floor, so, it's time to build some STAIRS!  My dad Doug helped out a LOT in this process. I spent a hideous amount of time drawing this stuff out so that it would be JUST PERFECT when it was built, but that just didn't work out! Here's the beginning..the lower part up to the

Landing that's about 6-1/2 feet up.  Then it'll turn and head the opposite direction for the last 5 of 17 steps.  The confused look on my face is an accurate portrayal of my general condition during the building of the stairs!

Here you get to see where I made this perfect angled side for the stairway, only to discover later that I had forgotten that I need something to support the upper landing….that's where the post comes in in the second picture here! A setback, but not unsurmountable.

At least it's LEVEL!

A closer look at the stair structure.

The green tint in these pix is due to the rain-proofing of the green tarp covering the stairs while the work's on progress.

Must: SET….

GLUE…..

And SCREW...

Every step until you reach the TOP!!! Only 2 weekends and we've got STAIRS -->
