April 10, 2004: After many moons of waiting to actually raise a wall, here it is. The first one. The East wall. You can see little blocks of wood that we made in order to lift the wall up over the bolts that are embedded in the concrete. Success! The blocks worked! On the next page, you can see some of the things we did after the wall was actually standing. Getting it upright was the easy part with a whole bunch of people. After that we had to let it down S L O W L Y over the bolts and then we straightened it all out in order to bolt it down tight. Then came the diagonal supports to hold it up temporarily. |
