The foundation plan was probably the easiest of the plans I drew. Just because it's pretty simple. The only thing that the city wanted after it was done was a notation about the door being fireproof and the SIMPSON ties at the short LRP's (Lateral Restraint Panels). I learned that on short bearing walls you need to be sure to use a specific thickness of sheathing plus LOTS of nails (double the usual) in order to make the short wall very sturdy.

The only reasons I went with a Monolithic foundation were that: 1.Steve and Kristen's plans were written that way and it looked good to me and B: that the garage is all slab anyway, so this makes it pretty easy.
